Snowbirds, have you stopped to consider what happens if you die away from home? This is not a very pleasant topic to think about, but it does happen. How would your family deal with this? If you have not made your funeral arrangements in advance including the Safe Return Assistance Plan coverage, then your family will have a lot of work to do to get you home.

Whether you prefer cremation or burial there is a plethora of arrangements to put into place. In addition to the Canadian requirements, there will be the International legal and customs requirements of the Country where the death occurred. In addition to the emotional shock, language barriers, local laws and customs, needing several thousands of dollars immediately available, can certainly complicate matters.

Planning ahead can ease this worry. Purchasing the Safe Return Assistance Plan product before you travel can alleviate all of these concerns. The Safe Return Assistance Plan covers the entire International and National requirements to either have the deceased cremated and bring the cremated remains home or if burial is preferred, then all of the requirements to prepare the body and fly the deceased home.

With one phone call to the funeral home where the Safe Return Assistance Plan was purchased, the entire gamut of organizing and securing legal documents, required merchandise, and transportation is set into motion; completed and paid for.

The peace of mind that having the Safe Return Assistance Plan in place is that there are:

  • No health questions asked
  • No limit to the number of days travelling
  • Coverage if you are more than 60 miles or 100 km from one’s legal residence.

Additionally all arrangements are put into place and paid for – simply with one phone call. Imagine the relief your family will have, knowing that you have covered all of your ‘what ifs’ with one product.

One lady asked me if she could purchase this for her father. Her anxiety over him being in Florida and not having this type of coverage was enormous. The answer is yes, she can purchase this coverage for her father, simply with one phone call!
